Work down this list. One of these explains nearly every locked-out student.

Check, in order

  1. 01Is it published? Drafts are invisible to students.
  2. 02Is the window open? No one can enter after the close time. Consider a late-join grace for stragglers.
  3. 03Is the student in an assigned class? Class-based assessments only admit members of the assigned classes (or everyone, if marked global).
  4. 04Roster mode: did the student get the invitation email? Entry is via the one-time link it contains.
  5. 05Their browser: a recent Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, or Safari 15 or newer. In-app browsers are blocked.
