You can't enter an assessment

Up to date

In short

Entry is controlled by the assessment's window and its access settings. One of these is almost always the reason.

Check, in order

  1. 01The window: every assessment opens and closes at set times, and no one can enter after the close. If faculty set a late-join grace, you can still enter within that many minutes of the opening time; your timer starts when you join.
  2. 02Access: class-based assessments require you to be in an assigned class. Roster assessments require the one-time invite link emailed to you.
  3. 03The browser: use a recent Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, or Safari 15 or newer. In-app browsers (links opened inside chat or email apps) are blocked, so open the link in a real browser.
  4. 04System checks: pre-flight tests your network stability, fullscreen support, and local storage. Fix whatever it names and run the checks again.
  5. 05An attempt already open: if your earlier attempt is still live, opening the assessment again skips pre-flight and drops you back into the session.
