Careers

Come work on the hard half.

Scoring code is the easy half, sandboxes and test cases solved it years ago. Scoring understanding is the hard half, and it is the problem Assessly exists for. We are a small team in India building it for universities, one pilot at a time, and we grow the team the same way: one person at a time.

How we work

Small team, whole problems.

I

Small by design

No departments, no layers, no handoffs. Everyone here can see the whole system, and most days touches most of it. Decisions take a conversation, not a quarter.

II

Ownership, end to end

You don't own a ticket, you own an outcome. You take a problem from its first sketch to the moment a real instructor uses it, and you answer for how it lands.

III

Candid, and close

We say the true thing, kindly and early, no politics, no hedging. It's how a small crew moves fast and how strangers turn into people you'd build with for years.

We will not promise you a career ladder. We can promise the problem is real, the users are real, and the work ships this week, not next quarter.

What you'd work on

Problems with no answer key.

Everything below is live on the platform today, and none of it is finished. That is the deal.

Dual scoringAn AI grading pipeline that scores the code and the student's explanation of it, with written reasoning instructors can review and override.
Sandboxed executionUntrusted student code in five languages, run safely at exam-hall concurrency.
Exam integrityProctoring and typing forensics that produce evidence a misconduct board can actually use, without turning every flag into an accusation.
Voice interviewsAI mock interviews that hold a real conversation, turn-taking, interruptions, and a graded transcript at the end.
Readiness analyticsPer-student and per-cohort signals that tell a placement cell who is ready before the company arrives on campus.

The crew we're building

Eight or so, then we stop.

We hire one person at a time, in no fixed order, until we are a crew of eight or ten and no more. These are the crafts we're building toward. If you're any of them, write to us, and if you're none of them but think there's a seat, make the case.

Operations / chief of staff

Runs the day-to-day so the founder can build and sell. The schedule, the CRM, hiring, the CA, the chaos.

Relentlessly organized. You make order out of a company that runs on momentum.

Customer success

Owns the campus after we sign: onboarding a thousand students, training faculty, making the pilot land, earning the renewal.

Warm, patient, organized. You're the calm face when a hundred things move at once.

Sales / business development

Opens doors at colleges across Karnataka, finds the person who can actually say yes, and works the pipeline beside the founder.

You like the chase, take rejection on the chin, and follow up without being told.

Marketing

Makes a small company look as serious as it is. The site, the decks, the case studies, the demand.

Sharp taste and your own ideas. You'd rather make one great thing than ten templated ones.

Engineering

2 seats

Builds the platform: grading pipelines, sandboxed execution, proctoring, analytics. Whole features, shipped this week.

Fast, rigorous, end to end. You own outcomes, not tickets, and you sweat the details.

Content / curriculum

Writes the learning library: problems, tracks, labs, the things students actually learn from.

You can teach a hard idea simply, and you can produce. Volume and quality both.

Product designer

Owns how it looks and feels: the flows, the polish, the small details that make it trustworthy.

Real craft and conviction. You care about the padding, the latency, and the words.

Something else

Don't see your craft? If you'd make this small company meaningfully better, convince me there's a seat.

Open application

No openings board. An open door.

We aren't running a big hiring pipeline, and we won't pretend to. Tell us which craft pulls at you and what you'd build first. We read every word, and a real person replies.

Which crafts pull at you?
