What proctoring actually records

Up to date

In short

Monitoring is configured per assessment. The pre-flight consent step lists every active module in plain language before your attempt starts. Nothing on the list is hidden, and nothing off the list runs.

The short version

  • Tab switches and fullscreen exits are stored as counts, not screenshots.
  • Paste events keep a length and a SHA-256 hash, never the pasted text.
  • Typing analysis keeps timing summaries; raw keystrokes are discarded.
  • Webcam frames are captured only when an anomaly fires; audio monitoring stores speech-likelihood scores. No audio is ever recorded.
  • The configuration is frozen the moment your attempt starts; settings changed mid-exam never affect anyone already inside.

Before a proctored paper starts, you see which of the thirteen checks are on and agree to them.
