Using AI when you apply

Draft your own ideas first. Then use AI to improve them.

How we see it

AI is good to use, and you are welcome to use it when you apply to us.

What we want to read is your own thinking: your ideas, your examples and how you would solve the problem. Write those yourself first. Use AI only to improve what you wrote, and do not let it change what you think.

Where AI help is welcome

  • Polishing what you wrote. Clearer sentences, better grammar, fewer spelling mistakes.
  • Checking your CV and your links. Whether your CV, portfolio or project page is clear and has no mistakes.
  • Getting ready to talk to us. Learning about our work and practicing questions you may be asked.

Where we want only you

  • Your answers to the role’s questions. The ideas, the examples and the first draft are yours. A spelling and grammar check is fine.
  • Any task or test we set, unless we say AI is allowed for it.
  • Every conversation and interview, unless we say otherwise.
  • The work you link to. Tell us which part you built, and where AI or other people helped.

Examples

Welcome

  • Fixing the grammar and spelling of an answer you wrote
  • Asking whether your CV or project page is clear
  • Practicing questions you may be asked in a conversation
  • Learning about us, colleges and placements before you talk to us

Not allowed

  • Asking AI to write an answer from the question
  • Adding experience or work you do not have
  • Using AI in a task or a test that does not allow it
  • Using AI during a conversation or an interview

An application written mostly by AI

It tells us little about how you think, so it does not move forward.

If AI helped you with your application, say how in a line. That is welcome.
